Gabe & Max Like The Internet – Episode 10

The dog days of summer are nearly upon us, but like a cool blast of freon to your prefrontal cortex, Gabe & Max are here to make your Friday considerably more chill. In their latest roundup of the videos that made the Internet guffaw over the past week, our daring co-hosts opine on serious and highly controversial¹ topics like:

  • The role of preachers at NASCAR events who use the opportunity to thank the man upstairs for blessing them with “smokin’ hot wives”
  • Whether or not breathing in gasses that make your voice sound quote-unquote “hilarious” is worth the adverse effect it can have your life expectancy
  • Should you shave your forearms, and if so, should you shave them with a super sharp kitchen knife?

Knowing is half the battle, people!

Gabe & Max Like The Internet – Episode 9

After a two week hiatus, our friends Gabe Delahaye (@gabedelahaye) and Max Silvestri (@maxsilvestri) are back with another cool, breezy, not-at-all-humid-whatsoever edition of Gabe & Max Like The Internet! We can think of no better way to beat the heat than to stay inside all weekend long and just watch these two comedians riff on the funniest videos the internet has to offer. In this week’s episode, Gabe & Max riff on the best (only?) water jet pack fail ever, Leonard Nimoy’s outstanding work as pitchman for Magnavox, and a truly delightful¹ lady named Sister Sunshine. ENJOY.

You Should Be Listening To The Ronna & Beverly Podcast

Suddenly, podcasts are back! It’s very weird, but after podcasts peaked as a cultural phenomenon around 2005, they’ve since found new ground in comedy circles, having become the go-to source for all things underground and hilarious (see WTF With Marc Maron, How Was Your Week?, and You Had To Be There).

Above all else, however, is The Ronna & Beverly Podcast, which you need to start listening to if you think any of the following things have the capability to be funny: Boston, Boston accents, Jews, Boris Yeltsin, douching, whispering, middle-aged women, indirect racism, or the mispronouncing of names. Ronna and Beverly are two over-the-hill Jewish ladies from the greater Boston area (played by Jamie Denbo and Jessica Chaffin) who co-authored a book called You’ll Do A Little Better Next Time: A Guide to Marriage and Re-marriage for Jewish Singles, and who have a lot to say about everything.

It’s free, it’s amazing, and it’s easily one of the funniest things you’ll ever hear.

Mini Gay Boyfriends For Everyone!

Despite what you may see on Queer Eye For The Straight Guy reruns, being gay isn’t always easy. There’s the pain of being teased, ostracized, and generally misunderstood by many. Sure, we’ve come a long way, breaking barriers within the civil rights movement faster than anyone could have ever imagined.

Most significantly, however, is that we’ve become pocket-sized anime-style cartoons! Digicub has released an app for iTunes that lets you collect your own tiny gay, or Mini Gay Boyfriend. It’s kind of like a Tamigotchi, but instead of being fed food and water, he just needs t0 be entertained!

Start dating and you can take your mini gay for coffee, to the cinema or out for dinner. But be careful not to spill the milk or drop the popcorn – he won’t like it if you can’t handle a hot dog.

Haha! Because hot dogs are shaped like penises! Very good.

Seriously, though, this is pretty fun. And cute. And even though there’s only two Black boyfriends out of eighteen (and one is a drag queen???), there are plenty of stereotypical Mini Gay Boyfriends to choose from, including The Brainy One, The Beach Bum, and — of course — The Hello Sailor One (i.e. SKANK).

Watch them in action (AT THE CLUB, DUH):

Gabe & Max Like The Internet – Episode 4

For the longest time, The Cure instructed us that Fridays were for being in love. Then, Rebecca Black came along and explained that Fridays were actually for “getting down.” Well, since no one wants to have Rebecca Black’s take be the definitive statement for what we, as a society, should do on Fridays, we here at Best Week Ever would like to instead propose that Fridays should be for laffs! Why? Well, mainly because we are excited to present to you the latest episode of the viral video skewering Gabe & Max Like The Internet.

In this week’s episode, Videogum‘s Gabe Delahaye and comedy’s Max Silvestri take on a variety of hot-button topics: Baseball jousting, Beetlejuice impersonators and Italian bus drivers who use two cellphones at once. Take it away, gents!

No, your calendar isn’t wrong, it’s not Friday yet. “But,” as you’re surely asking yourself, “then how come I’m seeing this week’s episode of Gabe & Max Like The Internet today? Is it Opposite Day or something?” Well, dear readers, the answers are simple: No, it’s not Opposite Day, and the simple fact of the matter is that we just couldn’t wait until tomorrow to show you Gabe Delahaye and Max Silvestri’s latest hilarious take on the magical world of internet videos. In this week’s show, the duo discuss their thoughts on flash mobs (specifically, flash mobs at amusement parks involving pregnant ladies), shady record executives with wall safes, why it’s important to employ proper breathing techniques while performing, and much, much more.. Enjoy!

Gabe & Max Like The Internet – Episode 2

Happy Friday! We’re not exactly sure where you are, but it’s a beautiful day here in New York City. Let’s face it, nobody wants to be in the office on Fridays, but as long as you’re stuck at your desk, we figured we’d help you kill off a few of the minutes before you can get your weekend started with the latest episode of Gabe & Max Like The Internet. This week, Gabe Delahaye and Max Silvestri break down a myriad of topical topics that run the gamut from the Fox anchor who casually announced the death of President Obama (what, you didn’t hear?) to Gloria Allred casually handsexing a baseball bat. Take it away, gents!

Do you guys like the internet? What’s that, you don’t? Oh well, move along then, nothing to see here!

10 Things You Would Rather Watch At 4 AM Than The Royal Wedding

Tomorrow, all across the world, people will be watching the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. If you live in the United States and want to catch all the pre-game stuff, that means waking up at sometime around 4:00 in the morning. Most of us, however, will not be waking up to watch British strangers exchange vows because even if our own brother got married at 4 AM, we’d tell him to f*ck off.

But if, by chance, you have some other reason to be awake at 4 AM on Friday morning, there are many other other things you can watch on TV. A quick look through your cable guide menu will reveal a whole ton of stuff you’d way rather see at that hour than a royal wedding.

1.

Because “shafts” isn’t capitalized, we can assume this isn’t about a bunch of dudes actually dressed like Shaft. And that’s a bit disappointing. But still… way better than a wedding.
