I’m not totally grasping the message of these Obama Joker Posters that have been popping up on the West Coast over the past day:
They appear to be an attempt to attack Obama, and they’ve already been denounced as derogatory and offensive by other leaders. Call me naive, but when I think of The Joker, particularly The Joker from The Dark Knight, three characteristics come to mind:
1) The Joker is f***ing awesome.
2) The Joker gets sh*t done.
3) The Joker is everyone’s favorite Batman character.
Other than the word “Socialism” being there, I interpret this poster to mean that Obama is an awesome badass who gets sh*t done and everyone likes him. He also murders a bunch of people with knives, but what politician hasn’t? (I’m looking at you, Rutherford B. Hayes)
If the poster-makers truly wanted to vilify Obama, they could’ve at least picked a crappy villain, like that Fallen thing from Transformers 2 or the Puttys from Power Rangers. I’d vote for The Joker in a heartbeat — who’d ever dare to eff with this country again?
