Detroit Lions quarterback Jon Kitna should be ashamed of himself. At a teammate’s charity Halloween party this week, Kitna had the nerve to show up dressed in a fake naked body suit carrying a soft drink, poking fun at Lions assistant coach Joe Cullen, who was caught driving naked after he pulled into a Wendy’s Drive-Thru in August of 2006.
Did Kitna think he was being funny?? Did he think the idea of a pudgy, middle-aged married man driving around naked then pulling into a Wendy’s Drive-Thru and placing an order and having the Wendy’s employees notice he was naked and call the cops is some laughing matter??? Fortunately, the media has already mobilized to criticize Kitna for this absolutely inexcusable act. Take it away, Detroit Free Press:
What was Kitna thinking? Was such brazenness another example of the swashbuckling cowboy attitude that has made him the emotional and spiritual backbone of the Lions locker room?
The stunt was consistent with Kitna’s in-your-face style. If you don’t like what he says or what he does, that’s tough. He’s not changing.
Yes!! Thank you. This shameless escapade is just more evidence that Kitna is a brazen, swashbuckling cowboy with no regard for his fellow non-cowboys. Would you make fun of a kid with cancer? Or the Holocaust, which was a terrible, terrible experience that shouldn’t be joked about via Halloween costumes? How is dressing up in a goofy suit to make light of a year-old incident involving a naked man driving around ordering fast food any different??
