The MTV Africa Awards Features Entirely New Trophy: Akon’s D

This is an image of Akon and Wyclef Jean not perpetuating stereogypes at the MTV Africa Music Awards — or MAMA — in Nairobi, Kenya.

MTV AFRICA AWARDS DICK SHOWDOWN

That thoughtfully placed logo is either a microphone… or… his… p.e.n.i.s. It’s sort of like the famous “right-brained”/”left-brained” GIF, only if you see a microphone head, you’re probably just “a virgin who can’t drive.”Tai

Slightly NSFW version who can’t drive ahead. (throat clear) (with thanks to Eliot Glazer for the link.)

Chris Brown To Headline MJ Tribute Concert, Tarnish MJ’s Flawless Legacy

Chris Brown BabyChris Brown has finally landed his first public gig since his February domestic abuse incident: he’ll be headlining the Michael Jackson tribute concert in Vienna alongside Mary J. Blige and Akon. Guess he’s gotta start small and work his way back up…

The first group of performers also includes boy band US 5, protégés of imprisoned boy-band impresario Lou Pearlman, and actress Angela Bassett, who portrayed family matriarch Katherine Jackson in the TV-movie “The Jacksons: An American Dream.” According to organizers, Bassett will “impersonate one part of Michael Jackson’s life.” A total of 20-25 acts are expected to take part in the concert, which will be televised around the globe.

Chris Brown and one of Lou Pearlman’s groups?? This is supposed to be a tribute concert to Michael Jackson, not some giant international controversy! Michael Jackson and controversy have no business being in the same sentence. If you look up “controversy” in the dictionary, “Michael Jackson” is listed as one of the antonyms (it’s a really informal dictionary).

Oh wait no it is like that previous paragraph was the opposite of the truth my bad!

Akon Calls T-Pain, And Synthes Us To Death

From SUPER DELUXE — Thankfully someone has called out the absurdities of every hip hop, pop and whatever artist synthing their voice instead of singing for real. Granted, if it wasn’t a trend, Blackout wouldn’t have come out. Check out this great parody, after the jump!

While You Were Becoming A Never-Nude

tila tequila-thumb.jpg

  • Page Six has blown the lid off the story that Tila Tequila might not actually be bi-sexual, and that her fascinating reality show A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila might not really be real. Just what can you believe in anymore?
  • Were Reese and Jake Gyllenhaal really boning in the bathroom during an International flight, or is Jake’s clever publicist trying to tell us something?
  • It would seem that Mary-Kate Olsen is following the doctor’s advice to recover from her recent kidney infection by pouring booze all over them.
  • Attention scumbag paparazzi hanging around outside of elementary schools, Julia Roberts looks like the kind of person who just might punch you in the face.
  • Akon has been formally charged for the incident in which he tossed a teenager into the crowd from the stage, only weeks after doing some serious sexual grinding with another teen onstage. The Akon Live Show Experience – don’t miss it!

VIDEO HITS ONE: Akon Owes Us Another Apology Video for Apology Video

Akon, the rapper surrounded by controversy after dry-humping a teenaged girl on stage and, in another incident, threw a teenaged boy off of a stage, has finally issued an apology video, entitled “Sorry, Blame It On Me.” It’s so cheesy and earnest as to be hilarious, reminding one of a little kid who created a short tap number to perform for his parents after setting his little sister on fire. Set to the tune of “Where Is The Love?” (not really, but definitely), Akon uses the tune to half-assedly apologize for all the wrongs he’s ever committed… well, all the wrongs except for this video.

LISTEN UP: They Are Still Just Rats In Cages

Smashing Pumpkins

  • Pornophony has a wealth of live tracks from the newly reunited Smashing Pumpkins. The group actually sounds pretty well rehearsed; Corgan’s voice is a little nasal, but I’m confident he can get to 100% full-on piercingly nasal by the time they tour.
  • I recently missed a free outdoor Animal Collective show in NYC because it was pouring down rain. To make amends for this embarrassing admission, I’m linking The Rawking Refuses to Stop, then dressing up in a tribal costume and playing 10 minutes of indechiperableness on guitar. Then when I’ve completed my regular afternoon routine, I’m gonna think of a way to make amends to Animal Collective.
  • British indie rockers Dogs sure make some nice music, but my question is, how the hell was the name “Dogs” not already taken? Might as well just call yourself “The Band” or something. (Obscure Sound)
  • It’s hard to imagine Akon, Bon Jovi, Kanye West and the Pet Shop Boys hanging out together, but I guess this is close enough. (Bedford Rockers)
  • Last but not least, the lovable Architecture in Helsinki has a pretty cool new single out. You can download the mp3 and some remixes over at Missingtoof, or you can just tune into pretty much any Top 40 radio station, which I’m sure will be playing it.

Akon Ceases Dry-Humping Teens Long Enough to Throw A Man Off Stage and Into Audience

It was only a little over a month ago that we brought you video of Akon, who was caught vigorously humping and man-handling a girl who ended up being only 15 years old and a preacher’s daughter (ok, fine, and sort of a Myspace slut… but still.) In today’s installment of “Akon Acts Like An Assh*le”, an audience member throws an unidentified object at Akon (some reports conclude it’s a ball). The rapper then asks the audience to “snitch” on the suspect, insists his bodyguards bring him to the stage, which is where we see that it is actually some white kid (this video shows him to be a teenager). Then, Akon removes his shirt, hoists the kid overhead, and throws him into the audience. Forget the injuries the kid might have gotten — what about the 12 year old girls nearly crushed by this guy?

Here’s video of the incident — yes, it’s sideways, but it gives you the best view. All we really have to say is that we miss the days of yesteryear, when hardcore rappers engaged in bicoastal wars that included firearms and revenge. Throwing a 15 year old suburban kid on some 13 year old suburban kid? Yeah, that’s just kinda gross.

UPDATE: The Poughkeepsie Journal has MUCH better footage — you can see the guy getting up. Check it out here!

SIZZLER: Guess the Victim’s Age!

The following is a video of rapper Akon, singing at a nightclub in Trinidad. Please take a look at the following dry humping incident — the likes of which the girl’s in The Babysitter’s Club could only dream of — and then let’s play a round of Guess the Victim’s Age! (Video possibly NSFW)

OK, have you had a good look? Great. So what age were you thinking? Perchance a young Trinidadian 23 year old? Maybe a touch younger? What about 19 — on the brink of being a woman, but technically a child?

Well, you, friend, have very high moral standards clearly. Because the girl in the above video is only…

Fourteen.
Years.
Old.

Now granted, it doesn’t really matter how old she is — the above video is still pretty mortifying. But check out the circumstances: Akon set up a “dance contest” during the concert, the winner of which was to receive a free trip to Africa. Then, after having his dry way with a number of girls, he was all “JK!” There was no trip to Africa. “Akon joked that he was Africa.”

Even more interesting? The girl’s father is a pastor who is refusing to denounce the rapper, blaming instead the world’s fascination with celebrity. Uh, listen, we love celebrities too, but if Patrick Dempsey ever came up to us from behind and simulated dirty sex through his ER scrubs… well, on second though, our dads aren’t pastors. So it’s completely different.

We’d love to know what Al Sharpton has to say about all this. (See what we did there? We made it relevant.)
