Here’s That Mickey Mouse Joy Division T-Shirt You All Wanted

The Disney Online Store is currently selling this “Waves Mickey Mouse T-Shirt”, a custom black shirt designed to look like the cover of Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures album formed into the outline of Mickey Mouse’s head:

Yes, that’s a real Disney shirt available for purchase. Even if we disregard the inappropriateness of mixing super-dark post-punk pessimism with Mickey Mouse’s frickin’ cartoon head, this is still just the most random combination of things I have ever seen. Random enough to dust off this trusty Simpsons screengrab.

Plus, even if I DID want to combine my love of Joy Division and Disney into one image, I would’ve much rather gone with this:

American Idol Contestant NAILS The Family Matters Theme Song

Here’s American Idol auditioner Reed Grimm with the greatest song selection in Idol Audition history: a scatty, vocal version of the Family Matters Theme Song. If you’re expecting the performance to be one of those fun, throwaway novelty auditions, then think again, cause this dude can scat with Urkelbot-like precision.

I only wish he’d finished his audition with an intense “DID I DO THAT? YES.” to the judges…

For the record, Michelle wasn’t entirely impressed, adding “I could NAIL that song,” and I don’t doubt her. Though personally, if I were trying out, I might’ve opted for more of a Miller-Boyett Medley concluding with me riding the Step By Step roller coaster, but I guess they really are pressed for time.

Still, way to go Pittsburgh auditions! Has my hometown found another Rusted Root?? At the very least, we definitely now have the best Family Matters cover on record since this piano prodigy.

An Adorable Photo Of Etta James And A Puppy Circa 1967

Singer Etta James has passed away at the age of 73, succumbing to complications of Leukemia at a hospital in Southern California this morning.

The news is obviously sad, but in an attempt to brighten the mood, here is a very adorable photo of Miss James in 1967 holding a little dog at Fame Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama:

Awww! Rest in peace, Etta James. We will now join the rest of the internet spending the entire day Googling her indelible “At Last” performances.

The Onion Comes True: “Jay-Z Fans Brace For Onslaught Of Horrible Baby Songs”

By now, we’ve all heard Jay-Z’s new song “Glory featuring B.I.C.”, his fatherly ode to his and Beyonce’s newborn daughter Blue Ivy Carter (featuring Blue Ivy Carter, obviously). The lyrics are predictably precious, are the Jay-Z “turning over a new fatherhood leaf” stories that continue to appear by the day.

So, just how predictable was this Jay-Z fatherhood rap?

Check out this segment from an Onion News Network episode that aired in October of 2011, entitled “Jay-Z Fans Brace Themselves For Onslaught Of Horrible Odes To Baby”, warning fans of Jay-Z’s impending lame ‘fatherhood’ raps and ‘leaking’ a series of fake lyrics to his ‘baby’ song that are really, really close to the actual song. Watch the once-fake Onion News report and travel BACK TO THE FUTURE:

Jay-Z Fans Brace Themselves For Onslaught Of Horrible Odes To Baby

Not only is the story dead-on accurate three months before Jay-Z’s child was actually born, but check out how close The Onion’s fake lyrics came to the actual Jay-Z “Glory” lyrics:

Justin Bieber Unveils New mRobo Ultra ROBOT JUSTIN BIEBER

Here’s Justin Bieber and two other people who aren’t Justin Bieber (OUTTA THE WAY YOU TWO NOTBEEBZ!) at the Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas unveiling the ‘mRobo Ultra’ Bass Portable Speaker And Dancing Robot, a small robot capable of blasting music and dancing:

It’s a very tiny white man that cranks out beats, dances with flawless precision, and is immune to aging – ladies and gentleman, society has officially created a robot Justin Bieber. Could this be the crossing-over ‘Judgement Day’ point prophesied in the Terminator films? Since this comprises the entirety of my robotics knowledge, I can only say “Definitely yes.”

After the jump, check out an incredible video of the ROBOBEIBER in action:

Someone On Wikipedia Really Doesn’t Like LCD Soundsystem

I’m a big fan of LCD Soundsystem, but I still laughed at this conspicuously-altered opening paragraph from the band’s Wikipedia page:

The paragraph has already been corrected, but we’re preeeetty sure that this didn’t just coincidentally appear on the same day the band announced that their documentary Shut Up And Play The Hits would be premiering at Sundance.

I just feel bad for the one person who was actually searching for “Sound system (disambiguation)” and unknowingly got dragged into this pretension-debate. Sorry dude! Hope you found the historical speaker info you needed.

Beyoncé Forced To Give Up Baby To The Witch Who Granted Her Fame

From The Onion comes this distressing breaking news that we all knew was coming but didn’t want to face: The witch who granted Beyoncé her magically flawless singing voice has unfortunately returned to claim her first born child, as per a fame-making deal struck between Beyoncé and the witch fifteen years ago.

Poor Blue Ivy Carter – we all knew your mother was a little too perfect to be true, but we’re sorry it’s come to this. At least you have your touching new Jay-Z song and today’s excellent New York Post cover

Check Out “Helter Skelter” Cut Down To Only Paul McCartney’s Vocal Part

Here’s a very cool recording of The Beatles’ “Helter Skelter” cut down to only Paul McCartney’s vocal part (with some backing vocals). It’s pretty impressive; it almost sounds like some college a cappella group covering the song, but the entire group is Actual 1960s Paul McCartney and doesn’t have a painfully punny music name (“Come see the Tuney Loons Saturday at Rec Hall!” – Sophomore’s AIM Profile, circa 2002)

It might not quite be David Lee Roth “Running With The Devil” caliber in terms of lulz, but it is very interesting:

Did Wiz Khalifa Steal “Black And Yellow” From Another Song Called “Pink And Yellow”?

Color-related rap song controversy!!! A western Pennsylvania rapper named Maxamillion is suing Wiz Khalifa, claiming that Wiz stole the concept for his 2011 hit single “Black And Yellow” from Maxamillion’s 2007 song “Pink And Yellow”. Listen to the song below and judge for yourself:

Maxamillion f/ Yung Zee, Frank G & AC – Pink ‘N Yellow by iTSyoungASE

Wow, that is pretty dang similar. Not quite “Under Pressure” / “Ice Ice Baby” similar, but let’s call it The Kinks “Picture Book” / Green Day “Warning” similar. Although both rappers now might be subject to a lawsuit from Sesame Street, cause I’m sure they have plenty of raps about two colors (“My name is Blue and I’m here to say…”)

Either way, Wiz Khalifa and Maxamillion still have to deal with the fact that they’re far from the best rapper to come out of Western Pennsylvania…

Ludacris Opens Literal “Chicken n Beer” Restaurant In Atlanta Airport

Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, rapper turned co-co-co-co-(x90)-star of New Year’s Eve, is opening a “Chicken n Beer” restaurant in the Atlanta Airport named after his 2003 album “Chicken-n-Beer”. As of press time, there was no official word on what type of food and/or drink the place will sell, though it will likely involve women’s legs laid out sideways across tables alongside empty “BEER” Brand beer bottles.

All we know for sure, according to Luda’s Tweet, is that this restaurant WILL BE HISTORIC:
