DecemberWas 2008 the Best Year Ever? For one year olds and under, definitely. But for the film industry, it’s been a up-and-down rollercoaster of record-breaking smash hits and surprising flops. Resident BWE movie reviewer Doug Benson has taken the time to bring us his scathing and sometimes inspiring “8 Second Reviews” for some of the years most talked about flicks: High School Musical 3, Quantum of Solace, Wall-E, and The Dark Knight. And who doesn’t have 32 seconds to spare for Doug Benson? I definitely do.

DecemberAs part of the big Best Year Ever special that you should spend the whole weekend watching over and over, we sent BWE panelist and #1 Jordin Sparks super-fan Chuck Nice on a mini-vacation/fact-finding mission to sunny Baltimore, Maryland for a live concert performance by last season’s American Idol finalists. The line of screaming teenage fans in homemade “Blake” t-shirts outside of the event center wasn’t exactly the “gritty Baltimore street culture” I was expecting from all those episodes of The Wire, but Chuck conducts a fearless investigation of the AI live experience with all the ruthless tenacity of a hard-drinking detective who’s married to his work. Watch the video to see what happens when Chuck comes face-to-face with his Idols (hey-o!), and as a bonus, what’s happening with Sanjaya’s hair these days! (SPOILER ALERT: not a whole lot)
