Bears get a pretty bad reputation in America, mainly because people really don’t understand the FACTS about them. While they have a reputation for being vicious animals, a quick scan of the Wiki page called “List of fatal bear attacks in North America” shows that only 4 people have been killed by bears this year, and all 4 of those people were in natural bear habitats, i.e. outside. Compare that website to the amount of people that die on cruise ships over at CruiseShipDeaths.com, and you’ll see that bears are much safer than your average ocean liner.
All this to say that Bears are really trying to make an effort to get to know us people better. Here are 10 videos of bears happily waving hello to our fellow human passerby. In every single one, these bears are all like “Hey girl! Over here! Where are going? No don’t leave… OK bye!” We have a long way to go, but these videos are an important first step to making my life dream of having a bear spoon me at night possible. Enjoy.
