Am I The Only Person Who Hasn’t Seen “Winnebego Man”?

Yesterday, my friend and I traveled to our local art house cinema to see the new Tilda Swinton movie I Am Love, despite knowing nothing about it, other than that it was about rich people in Italy, aka “enough for me.” Well, unfortunately, the movie left a lot to be desired. (Plot… plot.) Everything except for gratuitous shots of Tilda Swinton naked, which don’t even frontal nudity, appeals to some of you.

But the real story here isn’t the feature film, but rather one of the trailers we saw before the movie started. The trailer begins with a man cursing in his Winnebago. Great initial hook. Especially for this movie, called Winnebago Man, a documentary about a viral video featuring a man cursing in his Winnebago, and the effect that a viral video has on the human being featured in it.

Here is the trailer:

Wait, huh? Winnebago Man? Viral video? As a “professional” blogger, I had never heard of such a video. The movie flashed to people clicking on Youtube, students laughing while watching it in class, people gathered around a monitor to check it out. How on Earth had I missed this?

The video has just shy of 2 million views, which is certainly nothing extraordinary in the world of, say, “David After Dentist” (62 million views). But still, it irked me. How could I have missed this? A video that has an entire full length feature documentary made about it?

Final rhetorical question here: Am I alone?? The original “Winnebago Man” is after the jump.
