I was trying to type “Atlanta” on my HTC phone earlier today, and when I had typed in “Atlant” — literally the entire word besides the final “a” — I received these two prompted suggestions:
1) Atlantic. A large ocean, coastline, and record company. A reasonable suggestion.
2) Atlantis. A mythical underwater city.
My phone actually believed that I was more likely to be writing a text about the legendary underwater city of Atlantis than the still-existing capital of Georgia that’s home to 5.5 million people.
Thanks for the suggestion, phone! I can’t wait to save some valuable seconds the next time I’m texting my parents about my flight connection through the Lost City.
