Director Rob Marshall lit up the screens back in 2002 with Chicago, his Oscar-winning musical featuring fishnets, bob haircuts, revealing corsets, sexy choreographed dance sequences, and a gaggle of people you didn’t know could sing singing: Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellwegger, and Richard Gere. Now Marshall is back with his next future Oscar winning picture, Nine, featuring fishnets, bob haircuts, revealing corsets, sexy choreographed dance sequences, and a gaggle of people you didn’t know could sing singing: Penelope Cruz, Judi Dench, Kate Hudson, and… Fergie.
The story revolves around Guido Contini, played by Daniel Day-Lewis, who spends his life balancing nine separate women who he finds time to bone and/or man-handle during the week, including his wife (La Vie En Rose’s Marion Cotillard), his mother (Sophia Loren), and the local whore… FERGIE.
Honestly, the trailer doesn’t really make any sense. Something about kissing and sand dancing and jutting cliffs. But no matter: We’ll see it 6 times in the theater anyway, for good measure.
Catchy, no?
