Motown duo Ashford & Simpson managed to squeeze their way into three minutes of airtime during Larry King Live with a patriotically devious plot — they changed the lyrics of their 1984 hit “Solid (As a Rock)” to be “Solid as Barack,” and the resulting lyrics actually don’t fit completely horribly, but this clip is still absurd.
Also, I can’t decide if performing a song on CNN in their impromptu “Concert Area Kind Of” is an extremely high honor for a musician or extremely embarrassing. I imagine both.
Next up: Bob Seger’s “Like Barack,” Bon Jovi’s “Let Barack,” KISS’ “Barack and Roll All Night (and Biden Every Day),” Unk’s “Barack It Out,” AC/DC’s “For Those Who Love Barack (We Salute You),” and of course, the Bluth Company jingle, “Solid as Iraq.”
