Jon Gosselin visited children with cancer at a New York hospital yesterday, and the story somehow managed to leak to the press.
While this is obviously a worthy cause and I don’t want to just immediately rip on Gosselin because he’s a celebrity with a negative image doing something deliberately positive, there’s just one part of this story that I can’t get over — what could Jon Gosselin and kids with cancer possibly have to talk about?
An imagined conversation:
Jon: Hey hey hey, look who came to visit!!!
Kid: …
Jon: It’s me, Jon Gosselin! From the TLC show Jon & Kate Plus Eight!
Kid: Hi.
Jon: …Have you seen my show?
Kid: No.
Jon: Ok, ok, it’s cool. [Ten seconds of silence] So…… how’s it going…kid?
Kid: Good.
Jon: Good, that’s good, that’s good. You know, I have a lot of kids, so, you know, I like kids, and stuff.
Kid: Cool.
Jon: Yeah, it’s…cool. [Super-quick glance at watch] So that stuff about me f***ing like three women, that’s not true.
Kid: What?
Jon: You hear about that? Guess you don’t read gossip magazines. Never mind.
Kid: [Looking at wall, blankly]
Jon: So, ummmmmmm….. hospitals, am I right?
Kid: [Still looking at wall] I’m hungry.
Jon: Waitwait, real quick before I go — you’d wear Ed Hardy, right?
