Miss U.S.A. Pageants may be archaic and useless in the year 2009, but man, they can start some awesome scandals — Miss California Carrie Prejean appeared on the Today Show this morning to defend her position that marriage should be between a man and a woman and to respond to Perez Hilton’s insults towards her, eventually saying that she’ll be “praying” for him in an extremely believable display of faux-compassion for the hopeless gay blogger’s gay soul that’s doomed to gay hell.
It’s all good, though, because she’s “standing by her beliefs!” Even if those beliefs deny rights to millions of Americans and she’s lobbying to become a public representative for the nation! “Standing by my beliefs” is such a nice phrase though so let’s not get mad!
