Last night saw the closing of one of New York’s best watering holes, The Cutting Room. Famous for its giant martinis (at least, to me) and its backroom performance area, which hosted everyone from indie rock bands to comedians, most famously my lifespo Joan Rivers, the bar was a standard flatiron staple that seems to have just run out of steam. And, perhaps most noteworthy, The Cutting Room was owned by a certain someone you might call Mr. Big, and who others might call “OhmyGODit’sMR.BIGGGGGGGG!”: Chris Noth.
So while we are sad to see this bar shut down, our hearts are warmed thanks to the following picture of Mr. Big and Joanie, saying their final goodbyes:
There is something so heartbreaking about this photo… anyone who has ever gotten wasted/made out/called an ambulance at this bar knows what I mean. Ah well, such is life.
