Nick Kroll moved to Los Angeles from NYC last August to play “Nick” on ABC’s Cavemen. He’s currently working on a number of other projects including two new animated shows: “Sit Down, Shut Up” on FOX and “The Life and Times of Tim” on HBO. Sadly, Nick’s success in LA has caused him to take a turn for the worse. He insisted on doing this interview over Blackberry because he now hates making eye contact… We caught up with him several times last week to see what he was up to.
MONDAY, 3pm
BWE: Hey Nick, what are you up to?
NK: Hey! Right now I’m just waiting to hear about when we’re gonna start shooting Cavemen again. Seems like kind of a long break but I think we’re gonna come back really strong. Season 2 should be a pretty big deal.
BWE: Oh dear. Nick, this is awkward, Cavemen was canceled like 6 months ago.
NK: How can you say Cavemen was cancelled? Just because they only aired half the episodes, we got bumped for the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Special two weeks in a row and everyone on the show took other jobs?
BWE: Um, basically.
NK: Well, I guess that makes sense. We’re coming out with a DVD soon so I can watch it and crysturbate. I’m mega-bummed about this. I need to pop a xanax and do some serious retail therapy… That’s what me and all my SUPER AMAZING LA friends call “shopping.”

BWE: Whats going on Nick? Feeling better?
NK: Slightly (SIGH!!) I’ve been at Fred Segal for the last 7 hours trying on those little hats guys wear when they want to look retro-douche. Oh, and I spent two months rent on exfoliant. I feel a lil better but I DEFINITELY need a soy latte like yesterday. Or I might go to In and Out Burger and then puke for a while.
TUESDAY 10:30AM
BWE: Hey Nick, what are you up to?
NO RESPONSE.
THURSDAY 1:15 PM
BWE: Hey Nick, you there? We haven’t talked about what else you’ve been working on. We saw you did that web-series called ["(LAYERS)"] for Superdeluxe a while back with the Sklar Brothers about being an agent’s agent and it got nominated for a Webby Award?
NK: Who the f*ck is this!!?!? How did you get my private blackberry email?!! Is this ABC? Are you bringing back Cavemen?!!?
BWE: No its Bestweekever.tv. You agreed to do this interview for our website over Blackberry.
NK: Are you writing this from a Blackberry?
BWE: Uhm, no. I’m at the computer…
NK: Then f*ck this. This interview is over.
BWE: Did I say, computer? I meant iPHONE.
NK: iPHONE?!!! AWESOME!!! Everyone in LA is getting iPHONES. Way to go!! FYI everybody here uses Mac and we don’t leave the house unless our triceps look stunning. Also, fiction is dead out here. If you want to read, it better be a self-help book or a magazine article about a celebrity. Listen, I gotta run, I have to take my French Bulldog to doga (yup, dog yoga). Laterz.
