I don’t know when this big “Super Bowl Performance” by Paula Abdul actually happened (because I watched the whole game and don’t remember seeing it), but one thing is for certain: when faced with the “David & Goliath”-esque task of mounting a legitimate musical comeback despite being a batty old reality judge who’s always wasted on pills, Paula rose to the occasion, and lip-synched her way right back to the highest heights of pop super-stardom. So move over Britney, because even though Paula’s moves may not have been what they used to be back in the Laker Girl/MC Skat Cat days, and the fact that she’s clearly not singing anything (the first clue might be the lack of close-ups), there is simply no denying her raw desire to be taken seriously again even though that will never happen.
