Michael Phelps was named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year for 2008. I realize we’ve made some cracks about Phelps’ undeniably douchey fashion choices in the past (verdict: douche!), so I suppose it was a backhanded compliment when I saw Phelps in a loosened tuxedo drenched with pool water on his latest SI cover and actually thought, That’s not so bad — it’s basically what I’d expect see in a D.C. club on any given Thursday night:
