If you haven’t seen any of the promos for Whitney Port’s spinoff series, The City, here is the latest one, and you can probably just watch this instead of watching the entire series, because I have a feeling this is pretty much it. According to the promo, New York is a place where people “climb over top of each other,” wear sunglasses, get drinks with friends, have boy troubles, and walk down the street in pretty outfits. In other words…it’s exactly like L.A.! What’s troubling to me is that the scenes here are so non-descript, so not New Yorky, that it almost looks like they shot this thing in L.A., and added in some b-roll of skyline and taxi cabs to make you believe it’s actually in the Big Apple. Sigh. You all know how much I love Whitney, so I’m hopeful. I also am amazed how in this preview they’ve already set up the “Heidi,” a girl named Olivia who calls herself a “social.” Amazingly, she also kind of looks like Heidi (i.e. a horse).

This fub* debuts on December 29, and yes, I’ll be watching – intently.

*Fub = A term I’ve been using ever since a nurse told me that fub is the stuff all over the floor in a hospital, i.e., fesces-urine-blood.
