Just Hear Me Out…There Might Be A Tiny Speck Of Humanity Inside Spencer’s Ass-Heart

hillsspencer1.JPGOkay, I know. I have long suggested that Spencer Pratt is arguably the worst person to ever walk the face of the earth. And trust me, there are few people that make my blood boil more than this guy. And I know, that makes me incredibly pathetic. But last night on The Hills…I am so ashamed to admit this. I realize that I might lose my last shred of integrity when I say this, and I’ll be an outcast from all of society…but…last night…I felt the tiniest, itty bitty pang of sympathy for Spencer. I KNOW! I KNOW!

So, if you didn’t see the episode, let me give you the quick background. Heidi and Spencer go to a party where her boss, Brent, just happens to be hanging out. Heidi begs Spencer not to go over and talk to him, but of course, being the tw*twaffle that he is, he does it anyway (and Heidi just looks on with her forlorn/dumb eyes – sooo powerless to stop him). The conversation was amazing – Brent, like Heidi’s mom, only gives half the sh*ts hillsspencer3.JPGthat the actual cast members do about playing up the drama, so he had no problem telling Spencer that he was extremely uncomfortable talking to him. Because honestly, who wouldn’t suffer the onset of a panic attack while interacting with Flesh Beard? Anyway, Spencer manages not to get up in the face of Brent or brandish his d*ckhead sarcasm, and retreats to Heidi, who then decides she needs to go over to Brent for some damage control.

The conversation between Heidi and Brent was amazing, because he pretty much said what we’ve all been thinking this entire time. So amazing that I have transcribed it here for you:

Heidi:
I’m so incredibly sorry and embarassed for everything that’s happened.

Brent: Dude, your boyfriend’s a nightmare.

Heidi: I know, I’m sorry.

Brent:
You are an adult. You are responsible for your own actions. You should not let people like that influence your life. They make bad decisions for you.

Heidi: Well it was my decision, and I made a wrong decision, and I didn’t know.

Brent: Don’t you know that you are the company you keep? Like, you can’t just have people like that in your life because they will constantly…

Heidi:
But he’s not a bad person. The bottom line is…[blah blah blah].

CUT TO THIS:

I don’t know, but for some reason the look on Spencer’s face – that “Oh my goodness oh my goodness, I hope my little lady is okay” expression – made me feel a spark of compassion for the guy. I mean, we’ve been blaming Spencer this whole time. He’s the mastermind behind Heidi’s downfall. But really, shouldn’t we hate Heidi more for choosing him? Is he not like Sarah Palin in this way? Ultimately, doesn’t one choose their running mate? Because in the end, McCain – and Montag – have no one to blame but themselves. So in that moment, Spencer’s face (which, in reality, was probably staring longingly at some other girl’s ass, but edited to make it look like he was watching his princess in the distance), made me sad for him.

Of course, I immediately remembered all of this:

And the spark was promptly extinguished. Also, I’m scared. I’m starting to hate Whitney!
