Last year, the Pittsburgh Penguins treated us to the greatest local commercial in the history of local commercials, unintentionally blowing up the internets and winning the Oscar for Best Short-Form Documentary. This year, the Penguins and A&L Motors have dared to do something that J.D. Salinger, Jeff Mangum, and The Sex Pistols never attempted — they created a follow-up to their masterpiece.
The resulting commercial is a bit more self-aware than the original but no less amazing in terms of acting and production. If the original was the Sgt. Peppers’ of ridiculous ads, the new one is a not-too-shabby Magical Mystery Tour:
