You may have heard that Joaquin Phoenix announced that he was retiring from acting to focus instead on his music. But you may not have seen the video of this announcement, which is definitely one of the most awkward red carpet interviews I’ve ever seen. Perhaps I’ve been conditioned by the internet to think this way, but part of me wonders if it’s all a big joke. (Which is what the reporter thought, but that doesn’t make him any less of an asshat.) But then I remember that there is no way Joaquin Phoenix has enough of a sense of humor to pull it off. Therefore, this is amazing:

Dude. Nice to see you. Now get the f*ck off of me! I have to pull my pants up! ….I can’t wait to go to his retirement party – that’s going to be Joaquin FUN-ix!
