Have you ever had a really horrible day where you feel like your life has gotten away from you, your work is consuming you, and it is raining REALLY FREAKING HARD? That’s what happens in this ad directed by Baz Luhrmann (of Moulin Rouge! fame). Sometimes you have to get away. So let a little aboriginal child help you. And send you on “walkabout”….
A few observations here:
I first though the child’s bare feet in the rain were the woman’s feet, which caused me to think, “AND she forgot her shoes??? This woman is having a HORRIBLE day.”
When the magical Aussie wilderness child is creeping through her apartment, it felt a little like The Ring where that girl creeps into people’s lives.
I will not lie, rain in New York City is one of the worst things and it will make you want to break down and cry and possibly end your relationships. It is that bad, for real.
I must admit, I was waiting for that kid to whisper “Zoom zoom” at the end of the commercial and find out this was a Mazda ad.
