Just when you think there isn’t a Britney headline out there that can still truly grab your attention (short of “Britney Records Director’s Commentary On Il Postino Criterion Collection DVD”), you’ll come across a headline like “JUST IN: BRITNEY SPOKE WITH BRITISH ACCENT AT HOSPITAL.”

Sources tell ET that BRITNEY SPEARS spoke with a British accent during her stay at Cedars-Sinai hospital last Friday. While DR. PHIL wouldn’t comment on that during our exclusive interview with him, he did say that the troubled pop star needs to be in treatment.

Which of us hasn’t slipped into a good ol’ British accent to keep ourselves entertained when we’re forced to hang out with our friend’s Teach For America co-workers at some lame, expensive bar? It might be a bit of a waste to use the voice at a hospital, but that doesn’t make her crazy — Christian Bale stopped being Welsh when he was making the rounds for “Batman Begins,” and I don’t recall any exclusive ET headlines making fun of him.

Am I saying that Britney Spears and Christian Bale are the same person? Yes. Yes I am. In every conceivable way, actually.

Now if I could only think of a clever pun headline that somehow combined “Britney” and “British”… I’m not sure it can be done…
