Before bringing you what will no doubt be The Best Viral Video of 2008, Realized, a little backstory…

Here at the BWE.tv offices, we did this little thing called “Gift Exchanging”, where we bought each other gifts. I made out like a bandit this year, receiving no less than 2 bottles of wine, a roll-up piano with a side of Made in China lead poisoning, a Kittenwar Calendar and an old boot fished out from the Hudson (thanks, Blagg). But by far the best gift given to me was from my officemate, Raph, who found it in his heart to buy the new Celine Dion DVD Extravaganza, “Live in Las Vegas: A New Day”, 2 discs of such intensity that my DVD player broke out into a sweat from its genius. My plan was to watch these DVD’s over the break and put together a “Best Of” clips reel for the new year.

Then, something happened. That something being that I actually, like, went out of my house a lot over the break, going to things like “museums” and “movies” and “bathhouses.” Thus, the Best of Celine video I had up my sleeve never came to be.

And that’s probably a good thing. Because my blogging spirit twin Rich over at FourFour literally did the same thing over the break. And allow me to tip my rhinestone-studded beret in his direction, because his video, entitled “Hypothesis: Why Celine Dion is F**king Amazing”, is roughly 25 times more lucid, better edited and more brilliantly arranged than anything I could have ever dreamed of.

Hence, I am bestowing the following video, featuring the best highlights of the 89-hour “A New Day” DVD’s, as the Best Viral Video of 2008. Sure, it may seem early to call such a thing, but the dramatic chipmunk eats Celine Dion’s sh*t for breaky, lunch and dindin, i.e. cannot compare.
