Having just got my vacation photos back, I came across this photo taken at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, the possible location of Jesus’ burial. The Church is mind-blowing on a number of levels: Architecturally, it’s overwhelming. Each room begets another, more hidden room, the seemingly endless stairways and passages finally ending in a small chapel in the basement. The walls are covered in some of the most beautiful mosaic work in the world, and the thousands of people who’ve pilgramaged to the site walk around in a holy daze. It’s truly a moving experience.
But as overwhelmed as I was, I couldn’t help but notice that one of the holy men painted on the Church’s walls bore a striking resemblance to the recently deceased genius George Carlin. To wit:

(A photo of Carlin for comparison.)
Now, clearly, it isn’t based on the actual man George Carlin. Why, if it were, the scroll he was holding would have probably looked like this: (NSFW Answer after the cut.)

(Ed. Note: Sorry, Jesus.)
