…OF THE DAY

Barry Botter book

  • NOT THAT HARRY POTTER: J.K. Rowling won her copyright lawsuit against Steven Vander Ark’s The Harry Potter Lexicon, and will prevent the unlicensed book from ever being published. This winter, keep an eye out for Vander Ark’s totally unrelated The Barry Botter Bexicon. (Yahoo!)
  • OW MY BALLS: Seven million people tuned in to the premiere of Fox’s “Hole In The Wall” Sunday night. If the show had just been a wall with no holes in it knocking people into water, they might’ve topped eight. (EW.com)
  • THE WARRIORS SOLD IT: The rides from Astroland in Coney Island are currently for sale. Finally — a chance to remind yourself how depressing Coney Island has become without having to ride a train for an hour! (Brooklyn Vegan)
  • OBVIOUSLY SLOW NEWS DAY ALERT: Kevin Connelly says Michael Phelps is “A natural.” (Us Magazine)
  • THAT REMINDS ME: Anyone watch the Entourage premiere last night? I was going to write about it, but I feel like so little happened, there wasn’t even enough content to make fun of. Did they even attempt a joke? Are there EVER going to be repercussions for Vince’s failures? Again, I’m not 100% giving up on this show, but dudes, ya gotta give us something. I was laughing at that part where they jetskied past whales for no reason, though, but I’m not sure that counts. No link in this bullet point yet? Here.
