I Would Kill For A Plate Of Real BBQ Right Now

As a food enthusiast who grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, pretty much the only thing in the world I take very seriously – as an institution – is the delicious smoked meat of pigs, otherwise known as BBQ (and anything involving beef ISN’T barbeque, so shut up, Texas). There is nothing under the sun more wonderful to me than a plate of chopped, slow-smoked pork shoulder piled high with some sweet, spicy, smoky, vinegary sauce – red like God’s own blood, and preferably that made by Gates out of Kansas City – slathered all over it, so Rhett and Link’s epic anthem in celebration of the wonders of BBQ is a song after my own heart. The song rolls through all the regional varieties of BBQ in the south, so if you’re a Southern transplant living North of the Mason-Dixon line like myself, or if you’re a Yankee who just needs to learn what the hell real BBQ is all about, I suggest taking a look. My mouth is now watering.
