I Can’t Think Of Anything Funny To Write About Generation Kill

Lt FickWe’re four weeks into the seven-part HBO miniseries Generation Kill, and while I’ve been following the show intently each week and enjoying it, I have not written anything about the series for no other reason than there literally isn’t one funny thing I feel I can say about the series — it’s just a really uniquely striking, non-preachy, disturbingly unresolved depiction of the Iraq War (and trust me, I write for a pop culture blog, I know what being a Reconnaissance Marine in Iraq is like).

Therefore, rather than just giving you just ONE halfhearted attempt at putting a humorous spin on a thoroughly non-humorous piece of television, I’ll just list ALL of my ideas for what my Generation Kill post could have been, you can imagine what the posts would’ve been like, then we’ll all move on with their lives:
