Who’s Having The Best (Internet) Week Ever?

As many of you know, last week BestWeekEver.tv headed to the 2008 Webby Awards as the winner of the People’s Voice Award for Best Celebrity/Fan Blog. To get everyone’s “enthusiasm” up and running, we created the following short video, which aired at The Webby Gala, asking the question “Who’s Having The Best (Internet) Week Ever?” Yes, now you can join the ranks of David Byrne, Stephen Colbert, and Will.I.Am in viewing the video.

So who do you think it will be? Stuff White People Like? Bill O’Reilly? I Can Has a Goddamned Cheezburger Already? Or perhaps Lutzy, who makes a special appearance? Watch and find out.

And now, various photos of us looking “formal” at the 2008 Webbys (better late than never, right guys?)…

Here we all are at the table… From L to R: Project Manager Phaedra Riley, Me(Mi), Alex Blagg, our production assistant Jenna Ennis, BNE Editor Matt Neatock, Dan Hopper (eating), Senior Producer (and officemate) Raphael Rodriguez, and yet another production assistant Josh Lay. (Not pictured: Sr. Producer Rohit Sang, and editors Claudia Castillo and Cory Cavin.)

Many more pictures after the jump!

Here is a blurry picture of Webby’s host Seth Myers, who might I say, was absolutely HILARIOUS all night long.

The Awards ceremony was fairly long, but luckily they supplied us with an endless amount of alcoholic beverages. So much so that beloved BWE blogger Dan Hopper discovered a new continent:

Here is the last photo taken of Alex B. before he had his final 4,000 more shots of whiskey. Because I’m a friend, I chose not to post those “snapshotz” of him doing the robot to Ludacris.

WEBBYS134.jpg

And here’s a “candid” photo of me thinking about something. For those of you who ever doubted my resemblance to a certain Real Doll, I give you the above split screen.

And the night wasn’t without its celebrity!!

WEBBYS9.jpg

Here we see the inimitable David Byrne of The Talking Heads, all the more Byrnsey in this black and white shot, posing with Ro, Raph, and some man who looks like an angry Israeli Mossad agent.

WEBBYS12.jpg

Rohit also accosted Tallest Man Around© Stephen Merchant of UK Office fame, who wasn’t a winner himself, though I believe his blonde date picked up an award. Needless to say, I was too “shy” and “unstalkery” to approach him. Reports say he was “friendly” and “tall.”

WEBBYS16.jpg

Here is Ben Huh and his lovely wife Emily. What’s that? They don’t look like famous people to you? Hello, they are the owners of I CAN HAS CHEEZBURGER!!! (Note his dapper cheeseburger hat.) I love these two. Bunny ears guy is also a celebrity, as he time-traveled over from 1986 when putting bunny ears behind someone’s head was still considered “hilarious.”

WEBBYS11.jpg

Here’s Raph, Neatock and Claudia steppin and repeatin to the oldies.

Once the Awards Gala was over, it was time for the real fun…

WEBBYS15.jpg

Above, a blurred photo of the backdrop at Hiro, a bar I lovingly refer to as CDFB‘s, or Coke Den For Bankers.

WEBBYS4.jpg

Here I am, pre-Ludacris/drunkenness, gettin’ my pose on with Josh. You’ll note that I look practically petite in this photo. That’s because I’m putting into use my signature camera trick called “Squattin’ Like It’s Hot”, where I, a tall person, appear to be, instead, a short person.

WEBBYS5.jpg

So, yes, Ludacris did put on an extreeeeemely short impromptu show for the few hundreds of white nerds in the crowd, who knew said tunes from the various Burger King commercials they’ve been used in. Luda was pretty good, no question. But the real star performer of the night was his opener… a small white man in an orange t-shirt and fedora, who referred to himself as… wait for it.

SNEAKY PETE. Or, as we yelled it, “Sneaaaaakay Peeeeeeeete!” One by one, we all fell in love with sneak, whose catch phrase became “Sneaky Pete: Always Sneakin’ Around.” Josh Lay, one hell of a dancer, even came up with his own Sneaky Pete dance, which consisted of comically tip-toeing around and peeking out from behind walls. Needless to say, Sneaky P became a superstar in our eyes that night. His Myspace page only furthered those sentiments.

So you can imagine HOW ENTHUSED we were when NONEOTHERTHAN SNEAKY PEEEEEETE hit us up on the dance floor after the show!!!

WEBBYS6.jpg

Can you see him? He’s so damn sneaky, that Pete… do you spot him????

WEBBYS8.jpg

Does this signage help at all??? We also realized that if Josh, the other young man in a hat, were to put on 20 pounds and become friends with Luda, he would literally BE Sneaky Pete. Ain’t that Sneaky.

As the night wore on, most of the “Web Folk” went home to their loved ones (read: laptops), while a couple of us closed the party down. Oh, open bars, you so crazy.

Here are video editors Ro Sang and Cory Cavin doing their best “Comedy and Drama Masks” impression.

Here I am, throwing caution to the wind, and dancing up a miniature storm. If you’re wondering, those are green roses all over my dress, and not, as most would guess, cabbages.

We ended up shutting the place down, and a group of us “uptowners” went to a bar, and did shots of something called “Chocolate Cake”, which even just typing out made my stomach drop.

Here’s the final photo taken of me that night (hopefully not ever…), promoting Sneaky Pete‘s latest release…

Thanks again to all of you who voted!! We couldn’t have down it without all of you lovely people.
