This season of American Idol is quickly spiraling into by far the show’s most unwatchable one yet, save for one very special nugget of hilarity named Jason Castro. Castro is to AI what Le Pétomane was to playing the ass trumpet: A visionary with humorous tendencies. Last night, during the highly touted Idol Gives Back episode, Castro took to the stage with his trademarked dreadlocks and a tiny guitar — I believe some refer to it as a ukulele — and sang Judy Garland‘s gay anthem “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” You could practically smell his hemp shoes through the screen. And check out that smile!
In a season with some of the most sleepy singers we’ve ever seen (yes, David Archuleta is adore, but week in, week out, it’s the same thing over and over again) — the following performance has officially made Jason Castro our pick for the winner, if only because he is playing the ukulele on national television, and he kind of looks a little like Lisa Bonet.
The Highest Performance In American Idol History after the jump.
