America’s Favorite Mute Wife, Katie Holmes, handholder of action star Tom Cruise, appears in this month’s edition of InStyle UK. And we really have to hand it to their magazine editors, for they put Katie in what amounts to the perfect outfit… that of the saddest clown in the land… Ruggero Leoncavallo‘s Pagliacci (repeat while twisting mustache mysteriously.)
There’s something so blank about the face, so clownish about the coat (those sleeves are straight out of a Project Runway challenge), that the sad clown reference cannot be ignored. Hence, we decided to spend 45 minutes toying around with the photo to create Katie Holmes as Pagliacci. And what we thought would be a humorous photoshop job ended up becoming something much more sinister… and sad… and haunting. The similarity is too obvious! Stare at the following photo and picture poor Katie on her wedding day, or silently crankin’ out Suri, or being married to Tom Cruise. Her life will make so much more sense!
