Sometimes, in our rush to dehumanize certain famous people who may or may not deserve it for the really crappy music videos they’ve just made, we forget that those famous people can have feelings too. Other than greed, even. I don’t want to beat this “Heidi video sucks” horse long after it’s dead, but in order to provide her an equal opportunity to voice her side, I have printed her actual statements in this Us Weekly Interview below, along with one sentence I made up. See if you can guess the real ones!
1) “I cried myself to sleep that first night after my video came out. I just couldn’t understand why people I didn’t even know felt the need to be so cruel and hurtful toward me.”
2) “I just started sobbing uncontrollably”
3) “I am just a 21-year-old from a small town in Colorado trying to follow her dreams.”
4) “We were at the beach and, literally, Spencer had his camera and a boom box in the trunk. We did it in one take, maybe two, and it took us 20 minutes to film and cost us zero dollars.”
5) “We had other ideas but we couldn’t afford them.”
6) “I am incredibly, incredibly famous and wealthy. Even my crap single that I admittedly put no effort into climbed to #7 on iTunes. Additionally, I’ll bet there are a bunch of other small town girls out there in Colorado or elsewhere who are capable of singing songs or shooting videos that are not total crap. So don’t feel too too sorry for me.”
Answer after the jump!
Surprise! They were all real. Especially #6.
