Last week, I posted teary-eyed open plea to the internet asking for the support of all “Police Academy” fans to help in my personal crusade to make the long-rumored eighth “Police Academy” movie a reality.
This week, our thoroughly unironic crusade has its first powerful ally — none other than Toby Radloff of “American Splendor” fame, who, in this SuperDeluxe short, professes his love for the Police Academy franchise and pleads via catchphrases and impeccably re-created sound effects for Hollywood to finance a “Police Academy” reunion before it’s too late. By “too late,” I mean, the movie ends up being some completely re-cast, completely self-aware “Police Academy For the NEW Generation” with a Foo Fighters cover of the Blue Oyster Bar theme and Guttenberg only making a cameo appearance as New Mahoney’s grandfather.
Again, please continue to send all declarations of love and support to whereisproctor@gmail.com, particularly if you are an independent movie financier with lots of money and great taste in serialized slapstick films.
