Jenna Fischer Fulfills Nerdboy Fantasies Everywhere with Separation

JENNA AND JAMES.jpgWell, it seems The Office’s Honest Pam may have had some sort of influence over Emmy-nominated actress Jenna Fischer. Yesterday, her and her husband of six years, James Gunn, announced via their Myspace pages that they are separating. Cue Jim theories now:

We (James and Jenna) need to announce that we have chosen to separate. We are sorry for any pain this causes family and friends. The enthusiasm we have expressed for each other’s lives, spirits, and careers is real – we have been each other’s cheerleader and friend during the past six years and continue to be so now and in the future.

And a special note for our MySpace fans – We appreciate your support over the years, and would be overjoyed to have you continue supporting us both… We aren’t taking questions or doing interviews about this particular aspect of our lives. We’re also avoiding reading any press on the subject, so don’t send us any clippings or links about the split. Thank you in advance for respecting our privacy.

God… even in STRIFE they’re adorable!! We are quite sad to hear about this split — not only because they seemed genuinely cute together, but also because now every nerd boy from here to Timbuktooth thinks they’re actually going to have a chance to score with “Pam.” “She’s so down to earth!” they’ll say, while spraying cologne on her fan letters and praying for a response. Though, in their defense, it’s pretty obvious nerdgirls everywhere will be praying for a real life Pam-Jim love affair, so who am I to judge?

This separation came as a shock to many, but part of me wonders if Hollywood is finally starting to get to Jenna. After all, she’s more successful than ever — it seems every comedy slated for release in 07 stars one of three actresses: Jenna, Kristen Wiig, and Amy Adams. Whether she likes it or not, she’s hot sh*t! Is this a case of “the biz” driving a spike between two people who genuinely care for each other? Or just another fairy tale marriage gone wrong? Will we ever know? Probably not. But on a slow news day, it’s fun to debate.
