While we prefer the breaking up-to-the-minute news provided by blogs and web sites (the paychecks are nice, too) as opposed to the sluggish and increasingly irrelevant monthly magazine, every so often this delay in the news cycle inadvertantly provides us with delicious morsels of unbeatable irony, an example of which you will find in the latest Elle Magazine, whose pre-”2nd DUI arrest” interview (which, amazingly, is all about her triumphant victory over addiction) with Lindsay Lohan contains this priceless quote from the troubled starlet:
“They’re (the paparazzi) looking for me to, like, trip, so they can be like ‘Oh, Lindsay’s wasted and driving drunk.’ And that’s not it. I wouldn’t violate…I’m much more responsible than that. I would not do that.”
Subsequent drunk driving/coke possession arrest considered, I still want to believe her. She’s way too responsible to make such a monumental mistake like drinking and driving after all the legal trouble and media scrutiny she’s still suffering from the first arrest. She would only misbehave under the most extreme of circumstances, such as when the paparazzi force her to commandeer a vehicle to embark upon a coke-fueled high-speed car chase through Hollywood, desperately trying to run down her un-relapse-sympathetic assistant’s terrified mother.
