On the left, the 1981 Rolling Stone cover featuring John Lennon and Yoko Ono. On the right, the latest poster for the movie Good Luck Chuck.
What’s Wrong with this Picture?
1. Comedian Dane Cook is wearing underwear, Mr. Lennon is not. Playing it too safe?
2. While Jessica Alba is definitely ethnic looking, she is certainly nowhere near Japanese.
3. Dane Cook is naked spooning Ms. Alba.
4. Hipster f**king fauxhawks did not exist back in John Lennon’s time. There’s bedhead, as seen in the left-hand picture, and then there’s $60 dollar Frederic Fekkai product head, as seen on the right.
5. Where is the love?
6. The fact that two bubble gum celebrities (who, personally, are not our faves) agreed to/have been forced to parody one of the most iconic and reverant rock n’ roll images in our history. The last thing we need is to associate Dane Cook with John Lennon. The only way we’d allow the above image to slide is if at the end of the movie, some derranged ex-girlfriend puts Cook’s character down for good. Otherwise — Please, movie Gods, make this poster go away. What’s Yoko got to say about all this?
