There are certain American institutions that one doesn’t question, that one is just forced to take for granted. NASA hurtling people into space with zero pomp and circumstance, for example. Find a Dunkin Donuts open at 4 AM. And, most importantly, that Alex Trebek, host of America’s most intelligent game show Jeopardy!, is immortal. Well, it turns out, all of our dreams are built on a very flimsy foundation made out of blind optimism and ignorance. Because Trebek, aka America’s Pre-Prime Time Trivia God, has suffered from a heart attack!
TMZ has learned that “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek has suffered a heart attack.
A rep for the show tells TMZ the 67-year-old host is “resting comfortably” and confirms that he had a minor heart attack. We’re told he will be back in the studio for the show’s next scheduled tapings in January.
Trebek, who was born Giorgi Suka-Alex Trebek, has been the host of “Jeopardy!” since September of 1984.
Wait… Giorgi Trebex is 67?? Why, his moustache doesn’t look a day over amazing! We wish you well, Trebek. And somewhere, Ken Jennings is on his knees weeping right now.
