Babies, swimming pools, and potentially fatal accidents are not often synonymous with laughter (especially when you combine them), but there’s something bizarrely funny about this PSA for a water safety course promising to teach infants how to swim and stay alive in water long enough for their inattentive parents to finally realize that their children might be lost, drowning, and/or in danger and need to be saved. This service is represented in the following video commercial by having a baby dive into a suburban pool, float around helplessly, and make this really disturbing crying noise for awhile. The whole video feels kind of like a hallucinogenic Salvador Dali performance piece directed by David Lynch, and scored entirely to Nirvana’s Nevermind, as interpreted by a New Age synth composer. But whatever it is means, one thing is for certain: this video is either crazy funny, crazy scary, just crazy, or all three at the same time. It’s hard to tell.
