Sean Connery goes back on his word and returns to the James Bond franchise to make one final inessential, winking Bond film. Meat Loaf reunites with Jim Steinman to record a bunch of lame songs with paragraph-long titles as a sequel to a 20-year-old album. Eric Idle reunites with no other members of Monty Python to co-opt their legacy Mel Brooks-style for really easy Broadway success.
Yes, there have been many legendary reunions in our lifetimes, but this one may be the grandest of them all. Get your chartreuse spoilers and suspensions of physical reality ready, because according the Hollywood Reporter (who earlier today pasted a picture of Chris Daughtry instead of Vin Diesel), the greatest ensemble cast ever assembled may team up so that humanity can achieve one final positive cultual milestone:
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are in negotiations to reunite for the fourth installment of Universal’s “Fast and the Furious” franchise. Justin Lin and Chris Morgan, who were behind “Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,” are returning to directing and writing duties, respectively…
The story line is being kept under wraps, but fast cars are involved.
Fast cars??? No way!!! I read somewhere that the second one was already way too fast and too furious, and that was two installments ago! Maybe the cars in this movie are going to be so must faster and more furious, we won’t actually be able to see them with the naked human eye, but we’ll just see a blur then 10 seconds later hear someone yelling the Dopplar-Effected word “FURIOUS!!!” And that person will be Vin Diesel.
Or, if negotiations break down, Chris Daughtry.
