ICYMI: Having Grown Bored Of Lost, JJ Abrams Moves On To Next Project To Confuse Us With

cloverfieldimg1.jpgEven though he’s already sent millions of people into endless, answerless, labyrinthine fits of philosophical despair over the meaning of his hit show Lost, producer JJ Abrams is already moving on to his next frustrating riddle of filmed entertainment, which may or may not be called Cloverfield (even the title is a mystery!). Those of you who made it out to Michael Bay‘s orgy of transformative mechanized violence this week might have already noticed the cryptic teaser trailer, which starts out in some kind of home movie party scene and ends with the explosive decapitation of the Statue of Liberty. Some people are theorizing that it’s going to be Godzilla-esque monster film, while others suspect an adaptation of Voltron (personally, I think it’s about killer cheetahs who can fly), but the only thing anyone knows for sure is there’s already a bizarre, contentless “official” website, and some additional corollary sites and blogs (in another language!) at which you can waste some time while learning next to nothing of what this is all about (other than marketing, of course). So if you guys wanna get a leg up on thinking you understand (but not really) what this undoubtedly profound cinematic masterpiece actually means, the time is now! I couldn’t find the trailer on YouTube at this point (trust me, the studios DO NOT want people to be discussing or getting excited about this movie!), but I’m sure you can find something if you look hard enough.
