During The Price Is Right this morning, we found ourselves confronted with the following commercial for Tahiti Village, a casino and resort in Las Vegas favored by legendary TV dad and current booze enthusiast Alan Thicke, who shares his scotch-soaked account of all the fun to be had at this paradise-like oasis of gaming and relaxation. Potential guests are promised the perfect romantic getaway that may or may not include a few inappropriate gropes and touches from Thicke himself, who has been a permanent fixture at the poolside bar ever since Kirk Cameron went all crazy for Christ and Growing Pains was cancelled far earlier than it should have been (as Thicke will tell you, the show should still be on this day, right after The Office). The drinks in the commercial are all inexplicably blurred out, except for Thicke’s own (his twelfth), which a small caption on the bottom of the screen assures us is “non-alcoholic”. Though “non-alcoholic” is actually just a private joke between Alan and whichever Tahiti Village bartender is serving him his 8am double Bloody Mary. If you’re looking for the true “Vegas Experience”, this is your only real option.
