Here we go. Here’s what we’ve been waiting for–extended footage of the Transformers getting their tranformations on. Just tell me you don’t get all tingly when you hear that noise. Just tell me it isn’t awesome when Optimus rolls up as a truck and then turns into a robot. Just tell me why you’re still reading this post and haven’t already skipped down to start the video. OK, now that you’ve had a moment to watch it 10 or 12 times, we can discuss it more critically: A) The footage is awesome, but I must admit not as awesome as I had hoped. This might be a case where my expectations are pumped so sky high that they’re near impossible to meet. B) The plot and dialogue are looking pretty bad. Not that we weren’t expecting that, but I think this trailer gives pretty solid confirmation of the coming un-goodness. When the best one-liner you have for a trailer is that you think the robots are Japanese–well, it’s not a good sign. All that being said, will I still be first in line July 4? Hells yeah.
