LISTEN UP: She’s No Longer M.I.A.

MIA Resized

  • Analog Giant teases us with a new track off the upcoming M.I.A. album. The song even makes reference to the 90s classic “Rump Shaker,” proving that Sri Lanka does, in fact, have Middle Schools.
  • Congratulations, Bishop Allen, you’re the one billionth customer to write a song about rain! It’s actually pretty damn good – definitely beats “Who’ll Stop The Rain,” but it’s sure no “Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head.” (You Ain’t No Picasso)
  • Speed of Dark offers an absolutely gushing homage to Rufus Wainwright, but we sure do love us some Scissor Sisters, so we know not to read into these things.
  • Wooo!! A new album from Japanese noisemakers Melt Banana is on its way, and if you’re not sure why you should care, Raven Sings the Blues has the answer.
  • For those of you gearing up to see The National open for Arcade Fire this week, Sixeyes has an mp3 and a video to get you bummed out in advance.
