What Is The Worst Reviewed Film Ever?

BATTLEFIELDFOREST.JPGThere are very few addictions we admit to (let’s just say our teeth look like this), but one that we freely share with friends and family alike is our addiction to Rotten Tomatoes, the movie review aggregator that categorizes films with 60 percent or higher positive reviews as a “tomato”, and those with less as a “splat” on their trademarked “Tomat-o-meter”. The fun is not only figuring out which movie deserves your $28 ticket, but also which get slammed by the critics. A brief glance at the site today shows that the upcoming Sandy B-Lock thriller Premonition is slated for a less than 10 percent “splat”, a rare but exciting occurrence.

Now, you can see the 100 worst reviewed movies in Rotten Tomato history with their handy guide “Worst of the Worst.” We won’t tell you what the #1 Worst Reviewed Movie in History is (it would take a baby genius to figure out how it’s not Baby Geniuses), but it’s an entertaining read from start to finish, with gems like this ditty from the #4 worst reviewed film of all time, Roberto Benigni‘s Pinochio:

This film undoubtedly marks the first (and last) time an Academy award-winning actor chose to follow the greatest triumph of his career by dressing up in pink pajamas and playing a boy carved from a log.

We would also like to extend our congratulations to the two reviewers brave enough to give Battlefield Earth a good review. L. Ron Hubbard is holding a place for you in crazy people heaven, friends.
